Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel

Coco, in all her glory

Lagerfeld's couture creations

Karl-taking over with class

There is not one person that can say they do not like Chanel- not one! In this entire world…This   queen of fashion has introduced us to the classical, timeless looks that we love so much. Not bad for a self taught orphan! Her little black dress and the no. 5 perfume in the 20’s blew everyone away..and now Karl Lagerfeld has grabbed the torch and impressed us all with his ability to continue thriving as the director of Chanel.  His classic pony tail, sunglasses and Hilditch & Key shirts will always make him stand out as one eccentric designer. Also freelancing at Fendi, Lagerfeld doesn’t lack ideas.

The latest: To our great awe, on September 10th of this year, Chanel opened a new boutique in SoHo. Downtown inspired, black and white interiors make you feel like you will see Coco herself as soon as you turn the corner.  Its no surprise then, this shop is not just retail. Art works by talented artists like Robert Greene and Alan Rath are displayed as if in a gallery.  If not for the art, go check out the Chanel No. 5 perfume bottle that stand 10 feet high and even projects videos of past runway shows.

If I get one question…

Q:  Who do you have in mind when you design?

KL:  ” Several women, never and always the same, women who change with the times and are interested in what is going on- not only in fashion.”

Coco would be proud..
