Stefano and Domenico compliment each other perfectly

 

Dominico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana a pair known to all. Established in 1985, this  fashion house is almost as old as I am and it is still one of the hottest lines that everyone craves. Their combination of innocence and corruption, is what has made them the powerhouse they are today. This is made up of  childrenswear, menswear, womenswear, the younger D&G line, swimwear, underwear, accessories, eyewear and fragrances. That’s quite the list there.. But no one achieves great things without some bumps in the road.  In 2007 a few of their ads were banned by the Britain’s advertising watchdog Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) followed by Spain’s Labour and Social Affairs Ministry, branding the ads illegal and humiliating to women. But don’t fear- D & G is going strong-and is hotter than ever.

 

The latest:  After being Dolce & Gabbana’s inspiration for years, Madonna finally became the face of their 2010 ad campaign.

Q: What inspires you?

D & G: We are inspired by everyday life, by the world and by the people that surround us. Besides that, there are key elements that are our constant sources of inspiration (and that represent our identity and our roots); that is to say, the Mediterranean, Sicily, black and white, and the films of Italian neo-realism. But we are also inspired by opposites that attract each other, by contrasts, by music and cinema.
